Skilled Nominated Visa (190)

This 190 visa provides skilled workers the ability to come, live and work as a permanent resident in Australia. However, the person must be appointed by an Australian state or territorial government in order to progress. At the time of visa lodging, the applicant may be in Australia or outside Australia. At the time of visa lodging, the individual may be in Australia or outside Australia.

First, you need to contact the state or territory government agency, from which you are seeking the nomination. Then, review their nomination process and requirements. Afterwards, you have to submit an expression of interest (EOI) via SkillSelect. The EOI will contain the details of your nominated profession, skills and qualifications. SkillSelect will estimate a points score; if you score high, the Australian government or territory agency will decide whether they want to choose you or not. If you are nominated by a state or territory agency, you will be invited to apply for the visa. If you are invited, you will have 60 days to apply for the visa.
