What is IELTS?

British Council, IDP Australia, and Cambridge English Language Assessment jointly own IELTS. More than 10,000 businesses, colleges, institutions, and immigration authorities worldwide recognize IELTS. A good IELTS score is required for studying or working in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States.

Structure

There are two types of IELTS tests: Academic and General Training. The skills addressed include listening, academic reading, general training reading, and general training writing, writing, and speaking.

Total Points

All four components’ scores were averaged and rounded to the nearest full or half band.

Report on the Results

The average of the points awarded to each section: hearing, reading, writing, and speaking, yields the overall band score (0-9).

Result

Paper version of the IELTS exam: 13 days following your test, you can fill out a test report form.

Computer exam for IELTS: After your trial, you will receive your results in 3 to 5 days.

Speaking Exam

An examiner will conduct a face-to-face speaking examination.
